Every cottage has it’s own story and this terrace in Lewknor was no exception. Formerly a row of small cottages each with it’s own original fireplace, this large family home had been knocked through to form three distinct reception rooms.

Our Solutions

The snug, just off the kitchen, featured a 1920s brick Art-Deco style fireplace with a very small open fire at the centre. To make the room feel larger and to achieve a greater heat output, the original fireplace was opened up.

The home owner carefully chose grey flagstones for the hearth and a beautiful partially recessed feature oak beam to inject some character into this sweet little room.

The stove chosen was the elegantly simple Charnwood C-Five to sit below the shallow dressed wooden fireplace beam which was partially built-in into the wall.
