Halton - A Modern Inglenook

When a family takes a new home, one of the first rooms to take priority is the sitting room. The lounge of this 1970s property was a generous size but with a fireplace which not only didn't provide adequate heat, it also felt a little lacking in presence. The homeowner had some great ideas for the style they had in mind and after some brainstorming and sketching our designer put together a scheme that met their brief.

A new block work was faux chimney breast was formed in place of the old brick fireplace. Whilst making use of the chimney behind a more grand scheme was developed to include a brick chamber, log storage and a wooden beam.

A flagstone hearth was chosen to give a more rustic feel in keeping with the new scheme for the house.

The Burley Brampton wood burning stove was chosen for it's clean, sturdy style and large window.

The project took 5 days in total and completely transformed the ambience of the room and the family fell in love with their new focal point immediately.
